2025 Halloween ParadeRegister for the Halloween Parade. Line up starts at 1:00 and the Parade starts at 2:00 pm. This year's theme is Red, White and Boo! It's a warm up for us to celebrate America turning 250 next year! Line up will begin in the 1000 block of Commercial. Please enter from 14th Street and head east on Commercial.

Atchison Kiwanis Halloween Parade Honors Johnathan Mize as Grand Marshal

“Red, White & BOO” Theme to Kick Off a Day of Spooktacular Fun Downtown

The Atchison Kiwanis Club and the Atchison Area Chamber of Commerce are thrilled to announce that Johnathan Mize will serve as Grand Marshal for this year’s Atchison Kiwanis Halloween Parade, taking place Saturday, October 25, 2025. This year’s theme, “Red, White & BOO,” celebrates both Halloween spirit and patriotic pride as we look ahead to America’s 250th birthday in 2026.

Festivities will fill downtown Atchison throughout the day, creating a family-friendly celebration for residents and visitors alike. Businesses, organizations, families, and schools are encouraged to decorate floats, wear their best costumes, and show off their creative red, white, and spooky spirit!

Schedule of Events — Saturday, October 25, 2025

11:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Trick or Treat Down the Street

12:00 PM: Costume Contest on the 400 Block of Commercial Street

12:30 PM: Live Well Bike Giveaway

1:00 PM: Parade Line-Up

2:00 PM: Halloween Parade featuring Grand Marshal Johnathan Mize

The parade will feature floats, marching bands, community groups, and costumed characters making their way through downtown Atchison. Families are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy trick-or-treating at participating businesses and to cheer on costume contest participants before the parade kicks off.

This year’s "Red, White & BOO" theme ties together our spooky season with a celebration of our nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary, and we’re honored to have Johnathan Mize lead the parade.

We had the biggest turn out yet for the Costime Contest!! Thank you to Atchison Public Library for partnering with us again this year!! Don't forget to come out to the Kiwanis Halloween Parade at 2pm!! We are kicking off the Red White and Boo 250th Celebration!! Our Grand Marshall Jonathan Mize will kick off the parade!!

Instilling the love of reading is one way Kiwanis helps support their mission of improving our community one child at a time! This wouldn’t be possible without the partnership with the Atchison Public Library and today’s Costume Contest! The winners won a gift certificate for books!! So much fun at today's Atchison Kiwanis Club Flea Market!

Our Atchison Kiwanis Club uses the vendor fees collected at our flea market to support numerous projects that benefit local children.

Those projects include:

-Sponsoring a little league team through our Atchison Recreation Dept.

-Donating to the Atchison Public Library Summer Reading Program

-Contributing to the Backpack Buddies program at USD 409 Atchison Public Schools

One of our community groups we’ve gotten to partner with the last couple of years has been the Recreation Commission! This year we treated the Kiwanis Club Baseball team [First and Second Graders] to snacks on their last game! They played a great game too! Always fun to be a part of the community this way! Thank you to our Kiwanians for their help tonight!!
